A typical crusade day started with a Crusade
Team meeting at the venue at 2pm. There, the team would plan which area they
were going to do Mhere-Mhere (Outreach) and pray.
·
At 2:30pm the team would depart for their
intended destination with the Crusade Truck.
·
Every Team member would have a flier with
information about when services would start. It also had contact information if
interested people would like to be transported to and from the venue.
·
When the team reached their desired destination
of the day, they would go from house to house inviting everyone to the Service.
·
In the Crusade Truck there would be a P.A
System, which occasionally played music to attract attention. When the truck
stopped, a preacher would preach a short message with a primary goal of
inviting people to the Crusade.
·
After an area had been exhausted, the team would
head to another area until 4:30pm when the team would go back to the venue to
refresh and make final preparations for the service. The service started at
5:30pm.
The truck is one of the most indispensable
tools we have for evangelism, we thought. That is until it broke down on
Wednesday. We were at a loss on what the problem was but we tried everything we
could to fix it before Mhere-Mhere began but to no avail. Thus, we went
truck-less to the Outreach not knowing what we were going to do but believing
God was in control. Looking back now, that day is the most memorable of the
entire Crusade because the Outreach was very successful. This humbled us and
taught us that we need not depend on anything else but God for the success of
our Crusades.
This Crusade was also memorable
as it was the first crusade where we sang our Anthem during and after the
services.
In this Crusade, we raised funds
by selling egg and beef burgers with juice after Mhere-Mhere. This was
profitable as people would be very hungry after walking for such a long time
evangelizing in the streets! We also sell our Crusade T-shirts, masks, and caps
during the Crusades.
