The Crusade we held in Headlands was very
remarkable for many reasons. The most notable thing was that we had not planned
or prepared for it. We were actually planning for another crusade when we felt
the Love of God compelling us to go to this area first even if we were not
sufficiently prepared.

When I look back at this
crusade and how it started, I am reminded of Jesus and the Samaritan woman.

·
When she believed in Jesus, she
ran into the city and called everyone to come hear the words of Jesus. That was
the beginning of a city-wide revival.
·
In the same way, the Headlands
Crusade took place after a woman, who was a new believer, entreated us to come
and preach where she lived.
·
One of the two sermons spoken at the crusade
was actually taken from 2 Corinthians 5:11-14 which emphasized that it is the
love of God that compels a Christian to do the works of God in spite of one’s
background or history.
·
The Team would arrive in the early
afternoon in Headlands and start to go from street to street inviting people to
the Crusade. The Crusade Truck was a big help in this respect as it helped us
cover a lot of ground in the space of a short period of time.
·
Another notable thing happened
during a service when a drunk man ran towards the venue. When asked by the
ushers what he wanted he just replied, “I don’t know what has compelled me to
come here.” With that he entered the service, drunk as he was. He accepted
Christ that day!
This flash
crusade, as we call it, taught us to always be prepared because even if we make
plans, ultimately it is God who knows where there is a great need and at what
time. If we had postponed this crusade I am sure that we would not have experienced
the great move of God as we did. At the end of the day, we always give the glory
to God!
