Wedza Assembly Evangelism Report
Cluster Evangelism
Our first evangelism session, we preached at
Dean Farm. One of us preached another interceded in prayer, while the others
testified. We had a great experience because members of our audience started
inviting others to hear our message. We heard them saying many people had come to
them before telling them of our message but they had not understood it. Three
to four people received Christ. What surprised us was that when we came back to
the same place, the people there were still talking about the message that we
had preached.
Our Second Evangelism took place at Wedza Rank
and those who participated were Sister Delight with the testimony and Mrs.
Chigede preached. After we preached, young people and touts gave their lives to
Christ. Other people who were working begged us to wait until they had finished
so that they could also receive Christ. We went to preach at a beer hall where
people were quarrelling. When we preached there, God intervened and the quarrel
ended and we ended up singing with them and some accepted Christ.
Our Third Evangelism took place in the village
streets at night. However, the devil tried to discourage us, telling us that no
one was listening to the Word of God. One day, some of our members were
preaching in a bus and the passengers then told them they identified their
message with the one that was preached at night in their streets! This highly
encouraged us to continue Night Evangelism.
Individual Evangelism
Mrs. Nyamutakwa: She preached at the Beer-hall,
close to where she stays. There was a huge crowd of drunk people and she saw
the power of God. She had always been afraid of preaching to drunk people but
all were speechless as she preached and afterwards, an old man was saved
confessing that he had been convicted by the Word of God.
Mrs. Chigede: She does person-to-person
evangelism where she works and some people have expressed interest in our
church. One day she preached in a commuter omnibus and afterward, the
passengers then began preaching to each other. It was the power of God!
Sister Delight: She preaches in her class at
school and at the place where she takes extra school lessons. One day she
rebuked a person while she was preaching in a bus. She had never done this
before and she knew it was God because she could never muster the courage to do
so. She now feels that she must start praying for the students at her school.
Mr. Nyamutakwa: He does person-to-person
evangelism and preached to people at Bolton Farm in Chad, Wedza and the people
promised to come to church.
Mr. Chigede: He preached at Chemhanza High,
where he teaches, and Chemhanza Junior School. He was given time to preach to junior
students from Form 2 to Grade 1 and has gotten a positive response as students started
visiting him for counselling. He also got a chance to preach to senior students
and the School Administration at the Assembly Point. During exams, a student came to him with an
eye problem and after he prayed for him, he was healed and wrote his exam.
