The Bulawayo Crusade was the first crusade of the Spiritual Movement Crusade! This crusade holds great sentimental value for us because of its location, Bulawayo. Bulawayo is the city where our founder, the late Rev. F.M Nyika lived when he was called by God. God told him, “Go to Mashonaland, for my people are there.” He also told him, “The people you shall lead shall be called a spiritual movement.” We, as Spiritual Movement Crusaders, believe we are the people he was called for.

Statistics

The Team

·       God gave Rev P.D Zinyama a very youthful team to work with, with most of them still in their early 20’s.

·       The team came a day before the crusade to make final preparations for the crusade. That turned out to be a great decision as we had a service with the ‘Captain’ as we affectionately call our leader Rev. Zinyama.

·       In that service he taught that fear would be our greatest enemy throughout our lives. He also said we were pioneers, as we were now walking on a new path that no one in history had ever walked before.

·       Reverend also commented positively on the Team’s early arrival but stressed that we should not only arrive early for this crusade but for all other future crusades we shall hold.

The Crusade

The Crusade started on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. Reverend spoke about the modern false god: Self Love. He said self-love was the cause of the modern man’s separation from God. He emphasized that Jesus was the one and only solution to the world for he had what all others did not: the Love of God. Sunday Service was very eventful. I can still see with my mind’s eye the young people jumping up and down singing the chorus Walk in the Light. In that service, Reverend remarked that there would be many Nicodemuses after this Crusade; that is, people who would seek salvation secretly and not openly. This actually happened for we have people now who worship with us who didn’t come forward to receive Christ at the Crusade. This is one of the most notable things that took place after this Crusade, for people started contacting us after we had left seeking to receive Christ. This shows that even after we say we have finished a crusade, God still carries on the crusade in the hearts of men.

The Psalmists

This Crusade was also the birthplace of the Psalmists, a song group created by Reverend Zinyama. Their first song, Fill My Cup, was sung on Sunday.
