MUNICIPALITY OF MARONDERA EVANGELISM
REPORT.
I would like to thank the Almighty God for
granting me the opportunity to have open air evangelism at the Marondera Fire
department where I work. At first, I would do personal witnessing through
one-on-one conversations. One day my workmates had a conversation where they
said there were weird incidents occurring that made them believe that there were
people vanobata bata/ vanoshandisa mushonga [using Juju/jazz] at the work place.
So, they came up with the idea that we
must have Prayer time at work. They were looking for someone to lead the prayer
session but none of them volunteered. When I heard about this plan, I volunteered
to lead the session. I felt privileged and humbled to lead the prayer sessions,
because I had felt it inside of me that we must have a prayer session before we
start our work, but because of fear I kept silent and continued to battle with
the idea in my mind and therefore didn’t try.
Surprisingly the prayer sessions started
very well. I thank God because it gifted me a platform to share the word of God
and my testimony as well. I thank God because it’s still going well. I remember
the first day we had a session the room was full with people and they listened
attentively as I preached, I opened Psalms chapter 121, it was a great experience,
I felt the power of the Gospel as the people in the room sat in rapt silence as
they absorbed the Word. I remember the following day; I arrived a little bit
late and some of my workmates from the Security Department exclaimed “Why are
you late Mai Mufundisi we wanted to hear the Word, yesterday we were blessed by
the word you shared.” They thanked me and asked me to continue sharing the Word
of God. God is helping me so that we continue with our session.
In summation, I want to express my sincere
gratitude to our Captain Reverend P.D. Zinyama for his guidance and teaching it’s
because of these teachings that I have gone this far. I am praying for
increased power and wisdom.
