Theme: “You Will
Stretch Out Your Hands, And Another Will Gird You And Carry You Where You Do
Not Wish.”

The third Quarter has
been just as eventful as the last one and the Lord has been faithful.
· One Sunday morning, Mrs Kaumbembe preached in a
kombi while sitting in the front seat, an unusual position, that produces an
unusual result. When she got out, she found a young woman waiting for her
wanting to ask her about the Gospel. The young woman, who was on her way to
attend Sunday service at her church, because of the message of living a sinless
life she then decided to follow Mrs Kaumbembe to church!
· A young man working at the bakery accepted Christ
and has been going with the team to evangelize in the mornings in town. He also
takes part in the evangelistic services and shares his testimony. He testified
in one of our Cluster Services about how he faces opposition from his workmates
because of the decision he has made but he asked God to help him to stand and
continue moving forward in Christ.
· During one Evangelism service, one member of the
team who had not been chosen to participate (testimony/preaching) felt that he
had to confess his sin. The idea of waiting till the next day's service felt
unbearable and he heard God telling him to testify after the preacher finished,
which was an anomaly. He summed up the courage and spoke up when the others
thought the service had finished and made his confession about his lack of
separation from the opposite sex. When he was done, he felt there were others
like him who wanted to testify and he opened the floor. One of the two young
men who stepped forward was a Seventh Day Adventist who no one expected to
testify. But he first thanked God for our daily services which he said have
helped him not to sin many times when he remembers the Word. Then he confessed
about his life of fornication with his nephew’s wife and how he had asked his
current girlfriend for sex but later asked for forgiveness when she refused. He
hadn't raised his hand when the altar call was made, which made his testimony
all the more surprising, it was very touching moment where we realized the
Gospel had reached the hearts of even the unlikeliest of people at the bakery!
· Another major event that affected this Quarter’s
Evangelism was the Kenya Crusade. Since its inception, we felt that our evangelism
was raised to a higher level. We felt we had joined in the same war for souls
as was being done by the man of God in his open-air meetings in Kenya! This was
most evident in the type of people that accepted Christ – vendors, some of whom
had heard us preach for the past 3 years and hated us for it, came back to
Christ! In another place after the usual people started jeering and insulting
us as usual, they were deflated when a soul was saved amidst all the commotion!
· In another incident, Mr Kaumbembe refused to pray
for the people who had backslid after he had preached in the area where they do
business. Currently a total of 75 people have given their lives to Christ in
the ongoing Mbare Musika Crusade!
· Recently, a team preached near the Meikles Hotel in
the evening. The preachers were forced to denounce prostitution and the female
vendors, who turn out to be prostitutes as well, took offense and rallied
around the preacher shouting for him to stop. Two guards came from the Hotel
and dragged the preacher off, not knowing that there were other members of the
team around. The next preacher then started amidst the confusion. A man in a
suit then came and told the other team members to stop since an international
meeting was taking place at the Hotel. However, the team member told him that
God was bigger than their meeting and the man was left speechless and walked
away!
