Theme: “You Will Stretch Out Your Hands, And Another Will Gird You And Carry You Where You Do Not Wish.” John 21 : 18 - 19

April to July 2024 highlights

This Quarter has turned out to be the best we have ever had in terms of preaching. We call it the best because it shows clearly the evidence of spiritual growth that our members have experienced, aligning us with this year’s prophecy.

·     We start with Mr. Kaumbembe’s story where his project got robbed and was brought to near bankruptcy in June. If this had happened in the Old Dispensation, he would have surely backslid. However, he says he was told by the Holy Spirit to preach in Mbare Musika Market systematically until it “rings with the Gospel” which he has done ever since. Most people who know him are amazed at this surprising turn of events as they knew his character and didn’t expect this reaction and are glorifying God!

·     Mai John’s story is next where she went back to her former workplace to confess how she had stolen from the company when she used to work there. Imagine her surprise when she received a phone call to come back to work! She was told by the Holy Spirit to preach to every new person who would be employed before they got familiar with other people. She preached to a 20-year-old coloured boy who had been newly employed there. Previously, she had lusted after white men but this incident helped her realize that they are just ordinary people who have no peace and joy if Jesus is absent in their lives.

·     Br Kumbi and another brother were remanded into custody and spent the night in the Goromonzi prison. He preached to his prison cellmates and they all accepted Christ. Some of them took his number and promised to call him once they were set free. One of them, called Tendai, honoured his promise and reached out to Kumbi. He got invited and came to church and has seen and conversed with the man of God. This has helped Kumbi trust in God and learn that God cares for even the inmate in a rural prison in a corner of the world!

·     To cure Br Tinaye of his truant ways, God told him to attend services at school every day. What a great way to ensure that he would go to school, only God can do that! During one service he was pushed to testify about his past life of pornography and masturbation. Afterward, a young man approached him and told him he wanted to stand one day and testify as he did. The services changed and the students started praying for the forgiveness of their sins and the power to overcome sin. Revival has come to HIT!

·     Theo was told by the Holy Spirit to preach at the bakery sometime mid-Quarter. He had many misgivings about it but he obeyed the voice of God. One day he preached challenging the personnel that God would save a young man who would challenge their hard hearts. One Sunday, he was approached by Miracle, who confessed that he had wanted to come to church for a while now but his working schedule had prevented him. However, he had heard about the July Convention and asked if he could come.

There are many more stories similar to the ones above of the many things God has done through us this Quarter. It truly is the Acts of the Apostles all over again!
