REVEREND F.M NYIKA (OLDMAN)

Rev Nyika was born in Chikomba - Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe - on 1 January 1941. God called him in 1960 at 19, while in Bulawayo. Between 1960 and 1978 – 18 years - he went through several jobs, politics and eventually accepted Christ: he was in the wilderness with God. He then came to Mashonaland, upon God's instruction, in 1978 and that's when he started preaching. Old Man is married to Mrs Anna Nyika - our beloved mother - who gave birth to 8 children. They have over 15 grandchildren and 2 great grand children

He affected me in two ways. First, he saw through me, as when Jesus encountered the Samaritan women. ' HE TOLD ME EVERYTHING I EVER DID.' He was to me Christopher (a Christ- bearer) , as in Maria meeting Elizabeth ' THE BABY IN HER LEAPED FOR JOY.' My soul was eternally touched.

It was at a convention in July 1998. The man of God preached about the second coming of Christ and the whole Church was in tears. The most striking thing in that same sermon that converted me, was the likening of his language to Paul's in the new testament. I was convinced he was called by God.

In 2004 Rev. F.M Nyika came to our house and said to me I want you to remember that when you were in grade 7, you bought me a pair of size 7 shoes. “’I have come with a pair of my own shoes I want you to have them and walk in my footsteps.’’ It was at that time that I knew that God had chosen me to be his successor and complete that which God had called him to do. Oldman as he was affectionately known told me to read 1 Samuel 1 verse 22 - 28 and he said “when you were born you were very ill, the doctor discharged you from hospital saying,’’ “there is nothing more I can do I have tried my best.” My mother recalls that it was after I was discharged that Oldman came home and said to her “go back to hospital, his Father and I are going into the wilderness to pray and fast for God to give him life.” They fasted and prayed and God heard them and gave me back life. Oldman highlighted 1 Samuel 1 verse 22; “I have asked this child from God like Hannah asked for Samuel, so you must dwell in the house of God forever” such were Oldman’s last remarks on that day. He told me to underline the word “nokusingaperi” as it was Shona Bible I had read from that day, which means “forever”. I have come to realize that God plagued me with sickness at a young age so that he would discipline me. Oldman kept pastoring and nurturing me up until his passing on 31 July 2020. He used to tell me “whatever God reveals you must tell me first so that I tell you what to do.” The Mission In 2016 I went into a trance I saw young people of all races some of the faces were familiar as I had learnt with them in Primary or Secondary school. I then saw huge flames of fire and God said ‘’if you don’t help them I will consume them with fire’’ but I said to God ‘’I know you will not do that because you’re a God who is full of Grace and abundant mercy.’’ It became clear that God had bought me back to life so that I go around the whole world: • Presenting Christ to all people as the only and true source of salvation • Delivering people through Christ from all forms of evil, bondage or sickness • Filling all those who believe in Jesus Christ with the power of the Holy Spirit which Jesus Christ gives as a free gift to all those that believe in Him • To preach, teach or witness about Jesus Christ through crusades and road shows using tents, trucks and halls • To build the body of Christ regardless of one’s denomination
